The Letter from my best friend Iva

Iva has been my friend for a very long time. We are both from Sofia. We have known each other since the time we were 6 in grade. Then we went to different High schools, as we were interested in deferent things. I wanted to work for an advertising agency and she wanted to be a dentist and went to a different city. Although we did write a lot of letters, I missed her a lot. When we finished our high schools, she stared her studies at Sofia University, while I stared working for a very famous Publishing house. Therefore, we were seeing each other very often during the week. After awhile I decided to study in the US and came here to study English and then was admitted in Pellissippi State hear in Knoxville. She also got marred and came to the US, but she now lives in Chicago, IL.

We are still close, and she was even my best friend on my wedding. She came even though she didn’t have a lot of time and money. We have written each other a lot lately, and we have been calling each other a lot too. She is one of my best friends, so when I learned that she got pregnant I became very exited for her. One day I thought that she did not answer my latest letter for a week, and she did not answer my phone calls either, and that was when I got a very long letter and she wrote about how her water broke in the evening she was taken to the hospital. She said that in the beginning didn’t hurt so much and she thought that she was a hero, because she can hold the pain in so long. But after awhile the pain started to be terrible and she asked the doctors for a Pain RELIEVER. However, the pain medication didn’t help her to sleep, and she stayed awake the whole night. In the morning she gave birth to a beautiful girl. She called her Victoria. But, let me tell you she didn’t think to call her that name before she gave birth to her. To cut the long story short, she got home and the next day she wrote about the happy news. This letter became very important to me because it made me a part of my friend’s life. I and my friend Iva have changed a lot during the years and that has made our friendship stronger.

Wow, this is a beautiful response to the impact your friend's letter had on your life. I very much like the way you put it when you said, "This letter became very important to me because it made me a part of my friend's life." I can feel the sincerity of your emotions and the strength of your relationship come through in the way you write about your friendship.
